The third day of the Timișoara City Celebration 2026 event once again drew tens of thousands of participants to the city center and to the more than 30 venues on the program, on a day when tradition and Romanian and Serbian pop music brought together the city’s diverse communities, united by the city’s celebration.
On the main stage on I.C. Brătianu Boulevard, the evening began with a performance dedicated to Romanian folklore, presented by the Timișul Ensemble, alongside guests Monica Anghel, Nico, Daniel Iordăchioaie, Andreea Voica, Alexandru Brădățan, Aurora, and Săndel Mihai. The collaboration between established artists and one of Banat’s most representative folk ensembles presented the audience with a repertoire that celebrated Romania’s musical heritage and the region’s cultural identity. The evening concluded with a concert by Marija Šerifović, making her debut in Timișoara. The Serbian artist was greeted with enthusiasm by the audience, and the many members of Timișoara’s Serbian community hummed and sang along with her throughout the concert, transforming I.C. Brătianu Boulevard into a space of closeness and cultural ties between the two communities that coexist in harmony in Timișoara.
A surprise moment of the evening was Virgil Ianțu’s appearance on stage, where he delivered a moving message to the audience about Timișoara and the community spirit that makes this city special. His remarks were met with applause and added to the atmosphere of an evening dedicated to celebrating the city and its people. Also on Sunday evening, Victoriei Square hosted the second performance of the aerial acrobatics show Meraviglia, which premiered in Timișoara. Featuring aerial acrobatics, water effects, lights, fire, and music, the production brought back to the city center the excitement and grandeur of the major shows that marked Timișoara’s cultural program in 2023, bringing together thousands of spectators for an impressive visual experience.
Happy Anniversary, Timișoara! The event schedule continues
Timișoara City Celebration continues today with the program of official events dedicated to celebrating the city and with events taking place in Timișoara’s neighborhoods and cultural venues. The morning began with the laying of wreaths at the monument to Colonel Virgil Economu and the military-religious ceremony in Unirii Square, followed by community tours, guided tours, and an open house at the Hungarian House. Throughout the afternoon and evening, the day’s cultural program offers a new series of events. The public is invited to the Dixieland jazz concert in Jecza Foundation Park, the Pop-up Caffè and community party in Kuncz, the Vibe Guitar Day in Liberty Square, guided vaporetto tours, the children’s show “Lilu – The Green Hood” at the Basca Theater, the vocal and organ recital at the Roman Catholic Church in Elisabetin, and the final performance of the contemporary dance show “A N O N I M,” created by Timișoara native Baczó Tünde, set to music by composer Cári Tibor, which brings a spectacular finale to this year’s edition of Timișoara City Celebration.
Under the slogan “One City. A Thousand Ways to Experience It,” Timișoara City Celebration wraps up its 2026 program today, inviting the public to discover the city through culture, music, heritage, and community.
